The file that you sent me in email worked; it allowed the 45 degree angle of rotation to work as it used to. Thank you.

I did the registry as you instructed, but that didn't help. My Sims are nude, but the only thing that I miss greatly is the 45 degree angle mod. I'll search out at the other sites you have listed and try re downloading from there. I don't know what else could be wrong

Seems your game installation is messed up more than I thought ;o). If you send me an email, I will send you a file ST2 generates to allow the 45 degree angle mod.

HI there :) I tried to create some new modz/hackz (last 3 months) and...
I used SimPE & other crazy programming stuff to create some kind of universal mod (all in one ;) - mine and some stuff of others). But in the first launch everythyng went crazy. You know that - buggy EPs (the newer, the buggier :( - they cause all problems. I know I`m not alone but do you have probs with bad/missing data in license EPs?!
And question about load priority: I`ve noticed that game loads files in the alphabet priority (sub folders also from A to Z). Can I change this? I need some special load priority (to overwrite BHAVS) without renaming everything...
I`ve got some more questions here, about Bon Voyage EP: Do you know if there any new unusual stuff like plantsims, werewolves? If there is smth than how to find it/become it? ))

 Hi there ;o)
I've never had problems with any data missing. Sure, if you create global hacks, you have to check the code differences among all available EPs and to add checks for EPs if the code is not identical among all the EPs.
Keep in mind that not all global functions or Lua scripts do exists in the older EPs.

Load priority of files is determined by Windows API functions and you can't change it. Overwriting BHAVs is done in a different way. You can choose any file name for a global hack - you only have to use the same Group / Instance Id if you want to patch a BHAV code from Maxis.

If there are more global hacks patching the same part of code, only one of them will load. From this point of view it doesn't make sense to write hacks which already have been written - players prefer using hacks from "old school" modders. I would never release an "all in one" hack, it would cause problems with tons of other creators' mods.

Hehe, there are many secret features in BV - e.g. secret locations you have to unlock by using a map. Finding such stuff is easy - just compare global functions among EPs and you'll find most of the new features.

I have had a problem, occasionally, where the game simply would not start. In that case, I would remove the cache files and usually that would work. This last time, that didn't work. So I did a total re-install. But the game still wouldn't load. I made a second account on my computer, which also has the admin rights, and looked at that account. There were only 4 icons on the desktop, the sims2 being one of them. I tried to start the game, and it started and I was able to play it. I have all my sims2 files from my regular account files in the second one, and I'm not sure what a "Cracked EP" would be.

Doing such a thing has one disadvantage - the new WXP account doesn't have enough rights on the TS2 registry keys in HKLM section (the old account is "owner" of these keys).

You can fix it this way: open Registry (type regedit into the Start / Launch line), go to HKCU - Software - Electronic Arts (if the tree exists). Right-click on this tree in the left pane, choose Permissions (or something like this), go to Details (or something like this, I don't have English Windows) and add the new account name to the listed ones - choose Use for: This key and subkeys, Full Control: Grant (Allow). Do the same also for Electronics Arts tree in HKLM - Software.

No, I actually am using Windows XP. I guess I should have said that before. I've used your program for awhile now and it just suddenly stopped working.

Try the same thing - check if your WXP profile has administrator's rights assigned and if not, assign them.
If yes, it would mean that some registry keys related to Sims 2 are missing in your case. Haven't you installed e.g. a cracked EP / changed your profile rights when the problem started?

I have downloaded your SeeThem2 program and loved it. I have noticed recently, it is not working. I have re-downloaded it, as of 2-2-08, and get the same message when I double click the red heart: "TS2 user profile was not found. See Them 2 will be closed" Help!

 Dave:02/03/2008 09:42 PM
I expect you use Windows Vista - you must have administrator's rights assigned to your Windows user profile for ST2 to work.

Hey it's me again.I wanted to ask you if hacking objects is easy? Thanks. :)

 Dave:02/02/2008 06:00 PM
 Hey :o)
It depends. E.g. motive change itself is not that difficult to write, but you have to rewrite the original behavior code from semiglobal to local and to find a suitable place where to add the new part. It usually requires modding more routines even when doing such a hack.

It's an advantage to know programming basics (any language - to be able to write the new bhav) + basics of cracking (code tracking - to be able to find where to add the new code).
