Do you know how my sims can have a baby from the Grim Reaper? I hate killing simmies! And question about that SeeThem 2 cheatmenu: it`s very looks like an InTeenimater or InSIMenator I tested recently. They use same spawn menu & some opts. Do they use same resources? I`m always ready to test or d/l new stuff. Thank you =)

Hi, I found some messages on the net saying you can spawn the Tombstone of L+D in debug mode and one of its features is to have a baby. But I've never used the Tombstone of L+D, I couldn't kill my Sims.
Other messages say you can click on the mailbox with Shift and create the Grimreaper NPC this way (again in debug mode - there really is an option for creating NPCs; many players do use it for "spawning" the Pack leader at night in the Pets EP).

The cheat menu See Them 2 turns on was implemented by Maxis and ST2 just allow you to access it. I expect many of the InSim + InTeen features do just call these hidden debug mode interactions - especially from the spawning submenu.

Debug mode makes it easy for creators to write new hacks - e.g. if somebody wants to create a hack for removing the teens' zits, the hack contains just a call of the "Toggle Zits" debug mode function :o).

Hi everyone!!! I know about some secrets and bonuses in TS1, but there`s nothing like that in TS2! I`ve found Bella Goth in Strangetown - is that all "secrets"? And how sim can die in water? By the way good stories - my sister likes them

 Dave:08/06/2007 09:02 AM
Hi to Anny + all her friends :o)
I've found many secrets in TS1 (e.g. 2 hidden recipes in the cookbook), but nothing of this kind in TS2.
Sims can die in water if you sell the pool ladder (don't recommend doing it - I hate when somebody kills the Sims for fun).

What is that Teleport-folder in ts2-saves? It`s always empty, there`s no use in that. Maybe there can be stored some extra d/l

 Dave:08/04/2007 04:38 PM
Hi, Teleport is a folder for temporary files - the .sims2pack file content is extracted there when using the installer. After launching the game, the files are moved to Downloads. This is why this folder is empty after quitting the game.
I don't recommend placing files manually to the Teleport folder - you should use Downloads (+ its subfolders in case of objects and mods) for storing .package files.

Why do you like TS1? Is it better than newer sims? It`s a pity - my system do not support TS1!

 Dave:08/03/2007 07:32 PM
There are many reasons why I prefer TS1:
1) TS1 is much more fun. You don't have to look at tons of bars, aspiration levels, thermometers... Many players prefer to keep their Sims' bars in green, but it takes almost all the playing time in TS2.
2) Your Sims have all formal clothing in their dressers. No need to go to town to buy it (I don't use hacks, so no hacked dressers in TS2 for me).
3) TS2 - worse animations, bad lighting (dark rooms at day), almost impossible to take a snapshot e.g. of a square object on a wall.
4) Ceiling and wall items are hard to click. No such problems in TS1.
5) Better user-created content for TS1. There is much more TS2-related stuff, but the quality is lower - because it's very easy to create new Sims, clothing and object recolors for TS2.
6) Objects in TS1 are 2D. No need to use 3D tools to create new items. It is possible to create new objects from photos taken from 4 angles in TS1.
7) The TS2 game and modding tools require newer and newer comps. It's not possible to launch the Glamour Life+ EP's on an older comp, only GC's from a few manufacturers are supported.
8) TS2 creators can't be sure their stuff will work in newer EP's (I don't mean global hacks, but regular items created with non-Maxis tools). Maxis sure knows that those modding tools result in lower sales of their new SP's ;o).
9) Bonus items in TS1 - e.g. lot 99 in Makin' Magic (secret lot where the giant Will lives ;o).

But TS2 has some advantages, too:
1) Game AI is more complete (especially family-related interactions).
2) It is easier to make friends (in TS1, the Sims don't bring friends from school or work).
3) It's very easy to create global hacks - no need to replace the entire objects as in TS1.
4) Debug mode - no need to use special modding tools to change anything in the game.

Players using Vista have no choice - some TS1 EP's don't work with this OS. This is why I don't recommend gamers to install this OS (even when all my programs are compatible with this OS). BTW I still use ol' good Windows 98 ;o).

How often can I find new stuff here? And what`s that MTS2?..

 Dave:08/01/2007 05:30 PM
Hehe, I have a bit of free time only at weekends, so I am not able to create more than 2 new items per month ;o). And we all prefer TS1, this is why only a few TS2 mods can be found here at the moment.

If somebody wants to helps us with TS2 stuff, just let us know - especially testers (having a bit of time on Saturdays) and native speakers (who could check my English translations on Sundays) are welcomed.

MTS2 => modthesims2.com => free site hosting tons of TS2 mods and other stuff.

I like Simsky! Wait for my friends! I need more info about Seethem2 cheat opts (not enough in TShelp): what debugs, spawn menu objects do? I choose some opts but nothing happens

 Dave:07/31/2007 08:22 PM
 Thanks :o)
See my reply for Anny & Friends below (dated 07/24). There is written about the invisible spawned items called controllers, about the lack of debug mode info etc :o).

Where can I get teen preg hack for TS2? Thanks!

 Dave:07/31/2007 08:03 PM
I expect you could find something either at MTS2 (try to find stuff like "Teen Pregnancy") or at adult section of Insim (Inteen).
But I don't play TS2 at all, so I don't know much about mods from other creators.

Thx for lots of cool stuff!!! Smb here asked about See`em 2 instructions. Where can I find `em? Maybe this instructs are not ready yet...

 Dave:07/31/2007 05:51 PM
 Thanks :o)
See Them 2 section at this website contains the same text as the detailed English manual enclosed in the .zip archive together with the program.
And some more info describing the debug mode features can be found in "TS2 Help" section.

 Dave:07/27/2007 09:01 AM

Tarryn07/25/2007 07:56 PM
i can't wait for more hacked stuff and the rest of the Story ^_^ plz continue

 Dave:07/25/2007 08:05 PM
Which game do you play - TS1 or TS2 :o)? We all prefer TS1, we will add more TS1 hacks soon (and maybe a few TS2 hacks too ;o).

I'm afraid Abby is not able to continue in writing the story - she installed Vista and it is said that some of TS1 EP's don't work with this OS.
