| I downloaded ts2 and when I clicked to play the game it only brings up the ts2 window where you can check the stuff you want on. I cannot get my game to come up kiran_fur@yahoo.com

| | I absolutely don't know what you are talking about ;o). You downloaded a pirated version of The Sims 2 and it doesn't work, or do you mean See Them 2 with ts2?
ST2 is not related to how your game starts in any way. If you deleted the game icon from the desktop and replaced it with ST2 one, just create a new icon. Or specify what you want to help out with.

But I am not going to set up a new website related to TS2 - where did you read this? It takes me about 4 hours every day to reply all the emails and messages players sent me, there is no time for me to set up a new site ;o).

MAKE SIM UNSELECTABLE BUG
it works...but
i clicked on this (make sim unclickable/selectable ) and cant turn it back again so i closed sims 2, then when i try to open TS2(OFB) again and try to play a lot, it crashes in the loading screen, tried to disable all the mods and still it crashes. cant play my sims no more, i guess im the only one who experienced this, how can i fix this dave? email me: admin@clydeonline.net

If you leave the lot without saving, all is reverted to previous state. But I expect you have already saved the lot. Here is a part of the ST2 manual: "Debug mode has been set up by the game authors and See Them 2 just allows you to enter / quit it. Some user-created items may display error messages when this mode is on. Be careful as some of the options can kill your Sim! Don't save the game if you are not sure what happened!"
Turn off debug mode first (launch ST2, click on the pie menu picture - the green check mark changes to a red X). There are some user-created items not fully compatible with debug mode, causing errors to appear when entering the lot.
Now the "Make Unselectable" fix: If there are not any clickable Sims in the family (the Live mode is disabled), go to Buy mode, open the cheat window (Ctrl + Shift + C) and type this cheat: moveObjects on . Then click on each Sim and "sell" him/her by pressing Delete (you have to sell all Sims on the lot). Turn off the cheat (moveObjects off). Save the lot, then go to the Neighborhood screen. When you enter the lot again, all Sims will be back, selectable and their mood levels etc. will be in green.
This should help you - I simulated it in my testing neighborhood. Maxis provides no description of the hidden game options, this is why there still are players damaging their lots. I had no crashes when testing the "Make Unselectable" issue, I expect it was caused by something else in your case. If the game crashes during loading, it is caused by buggy downloads in many cases or by using a modified version of the main .exe file (w*rez game release or an "anticensor" .exe tweak colliding with the game patching process).
Let me know if it the mentioned fix helped. You can use the Clean Installer tool to check your game for presence of hacks then (if the crashing continues).

I discovered your site today from your post on alt.games.thesims2...Thanks a lot! I was so happy to know about SeeThem...it is indeed very handy and I hope I will be finally able to use some cheats...it is so much simpler this way!
Your objects are also really neat! I love this site.

| | If you mean hyperlinks for downloading ST2, they do all work. The external sites hosting ST2 do require registration for downloading, while nothing of this kind is required here at Simsky. Just click on the "Download now" picture to start downloading.
If you mean a shortcut for the program you created on your desktop, it's up to you how you set it up ;o). The easiest way is to select the extracted .exe file (it can't be left in the archive if you want to use a shortcut), Ctrl + C, right-click on the desktop, Insert as Shortcut.

Thanks very much, Simsky! I found Quaxi's patch at spicysims.com. It's listed as being applicable only on Nightlife there, but I found it works just fine for the base game (Sims 2) just fine as well. It'd be nice to be able to use SeeThem as well, but I'll settle for your custom objects.
Perhaps if you hosted Quaxi's patch alongside your SeeThem program you might help out other searching Mac users?

I am not going to host somebody else's files without being able to provide support for them - I don't know much about Mac-related stuff, so I could not help players out in some cases. An example - I've heard the length of a file name is limited on a Mac - but I don't know how many chars can be used ;o).
