I'm getting no errors at all accept the typical Maxis errors. Gotta get that patch soon. If I add SeeThem2 to the game, it still causes problems.

| ST2 causes no problems - just use it in a clean neighborhood (where no user-created "patches" were used) and you'll see. If you have debug mode on, it is the same as if you said "a feature made by Maxis causes problems to non-Maxis stuff".

by the way..if I use the See Them 2.31. what happens if I get an error message? mr dave

| Just read the manual - if you activated testing cheats mode (created by Maxis), some user-created objects or NPCs are not compatible with it and may show errors when entering the lot.

Just an update, The second bug has been found. It is called alkaloid_MAIDHATZAPPER.package. It was causing the "Wants-Controller" problem. With that gone and teenimater restored I am still not able to use SeeThem like I used to do with other Ep's. I will check back for updates :) -have a good night

| Let me know which error messages you're getting now. Are you getting them with debug mode off?
|
Thats what I'm thinking too. Cheers :)

The only patches i have are from both mts2 and thesims2.ea.com. I have a new update. When I added the Teenimater, one of the Errors vanished, thanks to your idea ;^) But there was still another one, "Wants-Controller". I'm using the same thinking as I did with the teenimater. By the way, do you have a separate package available for the Testing Cheats On/Off Hack?

| I recommend removing those global hacks when installing a new EP you are not sure they already support this EP. But removing some "patches" bring problems too - some of them change game arrays and variables and after removing them similar errors do appear. Seems that "Wants Controller" you used was either removed and is one of the "don't-remove-me-" patches or it's not compatible with AL. Just contact its creator or get an AL-comaptible version. BTW CEP also installs patches (when installed with those "Extras" features). If you want to turn on/off testing cheats during playing the game, you have to use the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true/false cheat. Using a .cheat file makes no sense - the game reads its content only during launching (this is the method ST2 uses).

hmmm, maybe I'll reinstall Teenimater again and see what happens. You're right, whats on the Log would be pointless to send, I think you helped alot already :) I'll get back to you on this and let you know what I found. -Cheers

| Just check your game folders for presence of hacks. Hope you haven't used any "patches", which are cracks in fact - there is e.g. a "nude patch" that can really damage the game - by modifying your original game packages or executables. Such a game starts to report errors after installing a new EP.

Thankyou Dave for the quick reply :) I have been leaving it on always during play. It is only now that I installed AptLife that it started acting coocoo with Object Errors. I'm also trying to learn how to interpret the Log files. If you know how to do this could I email you a log? The error log keeps identifying Teenimator but I don't have it in my game. This is what baffles me. Thankyou again :)

| Object errors (when entering a lot) are shown fur custom content only (objects / NPCs) - when an error occurs, the name of the object or Sim which caused it is always listed in the error message (at least in case of the debug mode incompatibility messages). If debug mode is off and you're still getting those messages, they are usually caused by using obsolete hacks (not update for a new EP) or by hacks for a different game version. You can send me your log file, although those files are not much useful - they are referencing memory data used in C++ programming and not mentioning real Simanthics routines.

I found that after using the older version of SeeThem2, AptLife was giving me ObjectError messages. After replacing it with the update for AptLife, I was still getting the same results. My only guess is something else is conflicting with SeeThem2. Is there a list of things in conflict with SeeThem2 that I can checkout? I have alot of hacks and I really don't want to get rid of SeeThem2. Awesome cool stuff you have here :) -Thankyou

| Hi there, there are many objects not having any pie menu (so called controllers) that are not compatible with debug mode (= the testing cheats feature you can turn on by using See Them 2). Just turn off this feature in ST2 after closing the game and use it only when you need to change something in the game. I don't recommend having this feature turned on all the time - just read the manual. BTW there was no need to update ST2 for Apt Life - it is still the old good file from the year 2006 :o).
